OUR PROCESS

Learn & Understand

The first step is learning about you, your business, and your customers.  We'll sit down and have a conversation about your vision, dreams, and expectations for your product's design.

Here are specific topics and questions we'll cover questions and topics we discuss to kick off the project.

  • What are your values as a company?  What do you stand for?
  • In one sentence, why does the app exist?
  • What problem does your app solve?
  • Who are your target users/customers?
  • What is the user(s) trying to achieve?
  • What are your style & taste preferences?
  • Who are product competitors?
  • What makes your product unique?
  • How can we quantify and measure success (conversions, daily active usage, reduced churn, etc.)?
  • How can we measure change in user behavior or actions?  What are the baseline measurements today?
  • What change in this metric would indicate you’ve been successful in your goal?
  • Define the critical path - Give a step by step journey of the users critical experience, from having the problem to solving the problem, and each step in-between.

Design Research

We’ll send example app designs in a moodboard to ensure we have a good sense of your design taste before we begin.

Wireframing

We’ll design low fidelity, greyscale screens that focus on defining high level app functionality.  Wireframing allows us to iterate quickly without getting mired in aesthetic details.

User Interface Design

After wireframes are approved, we’ll begin designing pixel perfect screens that define layout, colors, fonts, icons, form fields, buttons, and all of the UI components that make up your design.

Prototype, Test & Iterate

From the UI design, we’ll create a clickable prototype that we can get in front of users.  We’ll record feedback and iterate till the design is just right.
